   Proposal Description:
   Goal 1: Empirically validate the factor structure of the MOCA compared to standard neuropsychological test batteries                                          Expected outcome: domain scores from MOCA will correlate strongly with  domain scores from neuropsychological testing                                        Objective: Test the stated hypothesis                                         Goal2 : Ensure MOCA factor structure is similar across levels of cognitive impairment (i.e. mild vs. very mild AD).                                           Expected outcome: MOCA factor correlations with neuropsychological factor scores will be similar across CDR 0.5s and CDR 1s.                                 Objective: Test the state hypothesis.                                           Goal 3: Determine whether MOCA domain scores predict CDR status and future progression as well as or better than standard neuropsychological factor scores.                                                                          Expected outcome: MOCA domain scores will be as sensitive to CDR status as neuropsychological testing but may lack specificity.                           Objective: To test the stated hypothesis                                         These aims will have a large impact on the field of Alzheimer disease research as it will further validate the MOCA as a brief cognitive screening instrument.
